THE DAY, a lifestyle magazine that seriously considers “What is cool?” and “What does it mean to live richly?”, featured AOCA with the article titled “Art Museum-Style Accommodation THE AOCA Launches.”
In recent years, art hotels have existed in major cities around the world, such as “Hotel Chelsea” and “Ace Hotel” in New York, and “Au Vieux Panier” in Marseille, where new cultures are being created. Following this trend, demand for art & stay experiences is growing, with “Park Hotel Tokyo” joining as the “Main Partner Hotel” for Art Fair Tokyo. Against this backdrop, “THE AOCA,” an art museum-like accommodation facility featuring collaboration between SLICK, a leading LA graffiti writer, COOK, the only Japanese member of the art group “DISSIZIT!” led by SLICK, and “81BASTARDS,” a leading Tokyo painting collective, has launched in Ota Ward, Tokyo. Creative crew LQID handled the curation. Behind this project lies the desire to “not only resolve the shortage of accommodation facilities for tourists including foreign visitors to Japan, but also to provide users with a unique accommodation experience that satisfies their cultural desires.” Beyond the 17 rooms, artwork is featured throughout the facility.
